Landscapes, colors and memories are a continuous flow of inspiration to capture simplicity, beauty and silence on linen and clay. Endless views, purple salt marshes, rich clay soils, the sound of the rising tide. Countless colors, shades of grey, patterns and structures. The symbiosis of nature and art.

The use of materials is an essential part of Janine's work. Emptiness, silence and peace reveal themselves in the series 'Uitgestrekt'. Abstract panoramas on old linen inspired by walks through fields, salt marshes and beaches. In addition, she creates a collection of minimalistic, hand-formed wall objects made of clay in which colour, shape, engobe and glaze play a leading role. An ode to the landscape.

Janine Eshuis (1966) is educated at the AKI ArtEZ Academy of Arts & Design / Enschede / The Netherlands (Bachelor Fine Arts/2011). She also studied at the Wellington Inverlochy Art Academy. Her work can be seen in galleries, museums and art fairs. She currently lives and works partly in Diepenheim and on the island Schiermonnikoog.
